This knife is the only custom folding knife that I own
When there is a little money to spend, I use that money for either little straight knives or big honkin bush blades. Or on smokin good deals on knives that I know I'll be able to trade or sell.
I have a fair number of folding knives, but they are all production knives. Benchmades mostly, and they are all so excellent that I just have not bothered with custom folders.
The Marzitelli pictured here is a great knife. It's really light, super durable, has a comfortable and utilitarian handle, and the part that cuts does its job very well with not much maintenance. There are lots of little details in this knife that you just do not see anyone else out there do. The dovetailed bolsters are one of those things that I see as a hallmark of quality and thoughtful design, but there are so many things going on with this knife... well, it's just in its own league.
It's a little different from what you see from most makers, but not so different as to be way out there. Peter has been making knives for about 25 years and his fit and finish is as good as any, and better than most. His designs are pleasing and practical. I've had this knife for probably three years now, and although I don't carry it every day, I can't imagine being without it.
One of my very first custom knives was a Marzitelli, and that is how I found out about Peter. That knife is in my album if you care to look. Try and guess which one!
