Hey all,

I have recently become acquainted with the awesome-ness that is the BK-9. Thank you all for helping me come to my senses.

I've been reading posts and drooling over pics of so many SWEET-looking stripped-down and otherwise modded BK knives... Finally broke down and tried it myself. Check out some pics:

Here's the soon-to-be naked blade 'soaking' in some epoxy remover. Smells delicious.

Okay, the Black Dress has mostly come off, now.

Some razor blade scraping and steel wool brushing (before I took off the gloves)...

...and this stuff comes right the heck off! Woo-Hoo!

Now for the yellow mustard bath. One of three or four; I can't remember. I think the epoxy fumes removed some of my memory banks. Something about the experience makes me think of bologna sandwiches.... :)

All clean! And rusting immediately.

A close up of red, red rust. Well, brown really... But "red, red, rust" sounds more...lyrical... than "brown, brown rust. Forgive me, it's late.

Apparently, WD-40 is made of magic. I've long suspected its Narnian origins. Now we know.

That came out excellent, watch out for the orange rust even mustard can cause it....

Very cool. And very different.

Just don't loose it in a pile of leaves in the fall - sucker would blend right in. (lol)

Nice job.

Very cool!! I don't think I've seen a forced patina on a 9 until now. I'm totally diggin' it. Looking forward to see what you have in store for the sheath.
