So, I rent office space in my dad's building. He walked in to my office today with this DB handle and said, "I found this out in the shop. I have no idea where it came from, we don't have any double bits here. You can have it." Awesome right????

A couple hours later, my grandpa walks in. He says, "Hey, I found a couple of those axes I was telling you about. These two are for you."

A double bit and a maul. All within a couple hours, and they hadn't planned it or anything.

Is that amazing or what????? Yep, I'm stoked. Sorry to all of you that are committed to using every tool (my usual sentiments as well), but this one from my grandfather is officially a wall hanger. A family heirloom about to be restored.

Nice haul, and I would call you a couple names to go along with that, but I would like to keep my squeaky clean image.
 
That double bit, thats a dandy. I can see her now, all shined up, on that handle, proud as a peacock, loving life again.

Nice finds/gifts indeed.

Now knock it off and go collect spoons or something.

Sounds like a set up- Dad and Grand dad are probably enjoying fatherhood somewhere right now. It's what Dads do- I used to bury all kinds of stuff for the boys to find with metal detectors- just to see their faces lol.

I was at my dad's workshop and scrounged his boxful of old tools and found something different.
Maybe i will post it later.

Thanks, Gents. I'll get some pics of her cleaned up and hung when I can. Getting a bit of a backlog of loose heads...not nearly as many as some of you crazies. I think I'm up to 8 plus 2 currently in the mail, all that need hung. Working on taxes (yep, "taxes" not "axes" and year-end BS has my time, energy, and enthusiasm at sadly low levels. I'm sure all or most of you can relate.

I'll get her looking dandy-that will provide some inspiration!!!!
