Today was my lucky day...so many good things happend, on top of everything, as I was riding home with someone, I checked the glove compartment (nervous habit of mine) and found a Cold Steel Voyager, 9 inch , tanto blade, fully serrated (ugh). I was playing with it as any knife nut would, and all of a sudden...he says "you know, you can have that if you want it". I reply "....really?". "Sure man, it came with the truck, I dont too much care for it." "Wow thanks man!" I joyfully and gleefully took my knife home with me. Guess I can add it to my collection!

You need to at the very least offer a penny to the person who gave you the knife. It's a symbolic transaction- a big thing in knife lore. Bad mojo otherwise. There was a rather extensive thread on this once upon a time.

Oh? Im a big believer in mojo and karma....at LEAST a penny? I'll give him a dollar tommorow. Dont want any bad mojo after a really lucky week! can you post that thread if you find it?

The main two things I was taught as a youngster were:

1. Always give something in return i.e. a penny

2. Never sell a knife that was a gift - the main reason I've got a bunch of Franklin Mint knives.

Heh. The dollar is for the drink. ;P

We're in band camp..so water and drinks are like gold in the afternoon. A dollar is alot when you're really thirsty. :)
