Received a while ago, just would like to show you some pics. The blade is, as you can see, made from a file.
Some specs:
blade length 70 mm
blade thickness 3,0 mm
total length 170 mm

No liners on this knife, the entire knife is very light but feel robust. No blade play at all. I like the name of the maker and the date engraved on the blade

Being a friction folder, of course we have the appendix of the blade

Handling this knife is a pleasure; is light, comfortable, the handle is well shaped.

Michael Morris has found an interesting shape for the blade’s appendix, which I used of course :-)

Ciao, Alfredo

Wow! Fantastic Alfredo, and beautiful photos as always. I love the look of Mr Morris' work, always a pleasure to see. Cheers

Great knife Alfredo, thank you for the pics! I was just looking at his website again yesterday. I am hoping to place an order after the New Year for something similar to yours but in green Micarta.

I ordered mine back in November, can't wait for it to get here! Beautiful knife!

Alfredo,
as always, thank you for your review and pictures. As you know, I don't like the extended tang on these friction folders, but the rest of this knife looks really nice, and I love the finish of the blade :)

I don't like friction folders with one exception, which is Mr. Morris FF. It's very good looking and hifh quality, so I heard.

Yeah, despite loving the look of this pattern, I'm not sure it'd work for me either Fausto, maybe I will get a Svord before shelling out on a much more expensive knife :)

You know, I thought the extended tang would be a problem for me as well, but the way that Michael builds the knife its so incredibly slim and slender that I don't even notice the extra length, I can put this knife in my pocket and I don't even know it's there.

In fact I like the knife for the exact reason that it DOES have an extended tang because that means I can easily open it with one hand AND the cap lifter wouldn't be possible without it. The other thing I like about the extended tang is that when the knife sits in my pocket I can always pull it out quickly by grabbing the tang in my pocket, there seems to be less fiddling around trying to grab it out compared to other knives.

Friction folders aren't my favorite knives too, but this Morris changed my mind, it's so well made that I can't find a worst thing in it!

I have no doubt (and it's easy to see) that this is a finely made friction folder, and Morris' FF get alot of love around here for a reason. The fact is, I was raised with friction folders without an extended tang, so it does bother me alot when it's in my pocket. To me, a 3,5" knife like this one feels like a 4" one slipjoint in my pocket (as for bulk). So it's not for me.
As a sidenote, the caplifter thing is a very nice addiction :)
As for one handed opening, it's not really something I look after (although I can open my Sardinian traditionals with one had ), but we all have our taste and so on.
What I like in this knife is the cleanliness of it. It's so evident to be invisible at the first look...but then it catches your eye without notice :)

Those are really nifty. I'm a sucker for friction folders, and while I really enjoy my Svord Peasant and am pleased by its performance, I'd consider spending a bit more money towards a friction folder. Those look grand

how is this grip wise, does it offer a 4 finger grip?
and do you use it? how do you find the non-locking factor for edc. i.e opening, closing one handed, simple edc tasks etc

Michael makes them in different sizes, I chose one that is close to his largest size and I have a comfortable 4 finger grip. I use mine fairly regularly as part of my EDC rotation and I have no problem with non-locking and I can very easily open and close it one handed. You can use any knife (friction folder, locker, slipjoint) effectively as long as you are aware of the tool and its limitations.

Here are some specs:
Handle length (not including tang): 3 7/8"
Handle length (including tang): 4 7/8"
blade length (tip to handle): 2 3/4"
thickness: 3/8"

Here is mine:

Those are neat. I have always thought knives made from files were interesting aesthetically. I like the teeth that are left on it.

Yep, they're a great conversation starter. I use mine when I brew beer, the one hand open and close really helps because I tend to be doing many things at once and time can be critical. And of course there is the bottle opener :D

The one thing about it is it doesn't slice as well as many of my slipjoints because the blade stock is thicker and if you cut food with it, it can get stuck in the teeth of the file and it takes a little while to clean all that out.

Neat looking knife, simple and clean. Gotta love that opener too! as others have said I always thought it would be cool to make blades from files.
