I was thinking of making/buying a handle for a sawzall blade for my BOB .I have looked at the few offerings sold at stores and they are all to heavy and most cost about $20 (way too much!) I thought if it had another use all the better so here it is ,what do you guys think? I have to find a better way to attach the blade the tiny nut is a pain.

I have tested it lightly it works fine ,I think it might work better if I cut a slot in the edge of the bar and used a pin to hold the blade.I think it would work well as is but if not tight enough it would slip out and wear on the edges of the inset area also the blades can vary in thickness .I like the idea of sawzall blades because they can be found for every use metal and wood fine tooth and course I like these;)

Great idea! Maybe you could use a clevis pin? Personally I have the Lenox Tri-Fold and it's a great tool that can use sawzall OR hacksaw blades.

if the blades all work on the draw stroke, you could eliminate the cut with the mill, and just use two holes for button headed cap screws and wing nuts... one through the blade hole, and one to act as a stop on the top edge of the blade... trap the blade with the underside of the screw
