What a pleasure when the postman knocked at my door this morning to bring me that :

6 months ago, I bought a small DNT from a guy on this forum. He told me that the knife just had some scratches on the blade but no big deal.
But when I got it, it appeared that it wasn't scratches but the knife had some defaults in the weldings of the damascus (I think i had the only Devin Thomas damascus blade with a default in the whole world :( )
I contacted the seller and he wasn't honnest with me and won't to refund me because the blade was lightly polished to discover the defaults.
So I emailed Tom and told him my story.
He just replied "send me the knife and I'll see what I can do"
After the landing to Hawaii and an inspection by the master, Tom answered me that he will make another knife for me.

That man is a true professional !

That's a great story with a very happy ending. We need more of these around these parts! I know Tom and he's a terrific guy with an outstanding sense of honesty.

That is a great story and a fantastic knife!!! WOW!! I am still dreaming of owning a Mayo!!

Tom's customer service is second to none! He's helped me out several times and his turn around is always lightning fast. Definitely one of the best in the business. Hmmmm, I may have to send him something with a little "defect" and see if I can get him to make me a new knife.... :D
PS Did you ever post about this in TGTB&TU? It's good to know who stands behind their deals and who doesn't.

good idea Steve !

That is a fantastic looking knife. It isn't damascus. Is there a reason that you ended up with a different blade material?

No reason, Keith.
At first, Tom told me the steel would be CPM154V medium TNT because he didn't have Damascus anymore. I gently ask him if he could do me a small wharny, because I love the wharnies TNT of my friend Twan. He answered me "no problem"
But he was sick during a long time and finally received some new blade materials few months later, so he decided to make me a stellite one (perhaps it is faster to do because there isn't heat treatment), with titanium screws too. :)

I love that knife and it is one of my favorite Mayo styles. great story, nice to hear a good one:thumbup:

Tom Rocks
