21.5" Ganga Ram Special 42oz, white feathered horn handle w brass fittings. By Bura. I villagerized the blade when I noticed I had forgotten to oil it after a snowy expedition. Had to remove a few spots of rust :o

15" Ang Khola 22oz, hill walnut handle w brass fittings. By Sher. Still has a bit of that pineapple etch/patina on it, though you can't see it here.

12.5" Pen Knife 13.75oz, walnut handle w white metal (nickel alloy) fittings. By Bura. See the other thread for details.

9.5" Sgt. Khadka Special 5.1oz, unknown wood handle, brass fittings and traditional bolster. By Sgt. Khadka. Has a ding or two to it which put it on special. Still an amazing steal of a deal.

8.5" Bilton 4.2oz, aluminum handle, brass fittings. By Dharan. This is my infamous 'curry-eating' khuk - used as my only eating utensil when I found myself with no fork or spoon to eat my massive tupperware full of curry & rice at the lab.

If you look at the sizes carefully, you'll see that I'm testing out the different sizes at 3" intervals. Only an 18" WWII and maybe a 24" siru/chit/chainpuri are missing, and then I'll have to find another excuse.

So, let's see who else is new enough to this game that they can actually fit all their khuks into one picture...

man... having eaten with very sharp knives before (being used as a spoon of sorts) - that is a dangerous risky bussiness.....

Here is a picture of every Khurk I have, it pales in comparison to many here. From left to right: Chiruwa Ang Khola 16.5"-26.5oz by Bura, villager Ganga Ram with neem handle 15.5"-19oz by Bura, a non HI BAS 15"-17oz, surprisingly good quality. Sgt Khadka special 12"-10.3oz. All are users and earning their keep.

Hey is that skateboard tape? Good use of it, I use it on my rifle stocks for offhand competitions.

Neither of your collections qualify as 'meagre' or inadequate. Those are all damn nice blades and look to be well cared for, you should be proud. I don't have a good shot of all my blades at the moment, I'll whip out the camera once I make it home later this weekend and post it up. Just stop degrading your own collections guys, others should be so lucky. :)

Your khuks are beautiful and well cared of. I especially like the neem BGRS.

Kazeryu, your GRS and the AK are beautiful too. (The small ones are cute too, but I myself prefer the 15" or bigger ones.)

I agree with Roadrunner that neither collection is "meager".
Congratulations to both of you.
I wish you all many more, both happy years and beautiful khuks.

email sent!

(nice collection) :> :> :>

should do mine sometime soon - want sunlight

The bilton, the GRS and the AK have all seen a sharpening. Ironically, the GRS was the first one I did and it has the best edge.

You guys are making me want to take a picture. I just may. Done grinding for a while anyway. ;)

It is a type of grip tape used to wrap handles. I got it at a sporting goods store. It is very sticky and tacky but you can remove it from the handle with no residue. Available in many colors. It sticks to itself if that makes any sense. I wrap the bone handles only, the wood has enough grip for me.

Thanks for the complements.

Here is the Sarge working the trail. I carry it hiking at all times and it is light enough at 10oz, 12" to barely be noticed on a day hike. Don't let the size fool you, it is kept razor sharp and performs admirably at light chopping and trail clearing duties.

Here is the fabulous Bura rendition of the Chiruwa Ang Khola fireside. This is my favorite chopper and chop it did the day this picture was taken.

Kazeryu, nice collection! That pen is super nice and looks like a big razor. I have a couple and they don't look that good. I hope you got the GR squared away. You would have had the buttcap in better shape if I had had my 1X42 a few months ago.

Regards,

Norm

I neglected to mention that you have a sweet collection of tools there, I should have stated that before showing off all my stuff.:o
