Sitting here tonight, working some things and saw my Mike Cooper wharncliff folder resting there, grabbed my camera and just took a quick shot. Not a razzle dazzle shot but just wanted to share, the folder I think is one of the first that Mike made, bone scales, fitup is excellent! Liner lock is very secure, I think Mike is one of the dark horses in the folder market and I'd recommend everyone to give him a second look. The knife had a great feel in the hand and of course it has my favourite blade shape doesn't hurt either! ;)

The table is in our kitchen which makes my wife go crazy  the board the knife is sitting on must have over a million holes in it from pounding through sheaths in order to stitch them up...and you'll notice in the back ground a paper that has a slice in it, can't help myself ;) My wife says I'd make a great confetti maker!

Thanks for making a great folder Mike!

edited to say that my photo site must be down? uploading now...
also edited to say that the nail nic on the blade was of my own device and not from Mike, I had ground in a small swedge which then made the knife hard for me to pull free...Mike had it figured, but I had to mess it up ;) So CAREFULLY I took a dremel cutoff tool to grind in a nail nic, not the prettiest but I felt lucky and didn't want to press it further!

Looks like a real beauty G2. I really like the bone scales. I'm a big fan of the Wharnnie blade myself, so can you post a pic or two of the knife in the open position? ;) ;)

I see you happened to sneak your Kershaw in the pic too ;)

Nice picture, you sure seem to have a knack for photography.

hehe, I was wondering if someone would notice the Kershaw Double Cross lounging in the background ;)

Here she is opened up a little, blade has a nice convex edge so it push cuts great!

Good to see that you are still messing up the kitchen there, Gary! Every time your wife gets upset some lucky knife knut gets happy ;)

Thanks James, here is a shot with some work in the background, two sheaths are spoken for with a third for a BM4x that is open, I was having some trouble with dye, the light tan isn't working the way I would like, so the one is darker than the person wanted, so I started him another, you can just see his to the left, the darker one is about middle and on the right is one black with a burgundy celtic embossing, special request and looks nice, not too bold a contrast but a good contrast none the less. ;)

This also gives the knife a more two dimensional look to it, also a hand held shot, 1/5sec at f2.8 I think it was, reduced down to fit on the forum.

Mike has a very nice one up forsale that I'd love to get, but can't afford all of them! :)

G2, what's the blade length?

Thanks Jsun, and Trane, the Blade length is 2 3/4" from tip to bolster with a 4" comfy handle scaled in bone, the back spacer is steel with some file work on it as well. Not fancy file work but nicer than just a flat spacer.

That's a well thought out design. No sharp corners to wear a whole in your pocket or cause hot-spots and blisters. And you gotta love the wharnie...

I just wish that the Reeve clan would come out with a small modified wharncliffish type blade :)

From our mouths (not to mention hearts) to Chris' ear. G2, a Wharnnie blade CRK on a platform between the small Sebbie and the Umfaan would be awesome. It would be the ultimate Gent's knife hands down (IMNSHO). ;) ;)

One of the results of that mess is leaving tomorrow, came out nice if I do say so myself ;) Can't say that the leather will always take the lighter dye this well, sometimes leather is fickle!

In the image up above you can just see this sheath in progress on the left side.

And yep, would love to hear that Chris Reeve woud make at the very least, a spear point folder! He has made some custom folders a long time ago with spear point, so he should be able to add that to the line up?

Awesome work Gary   !!!

A CRK wharnie or spear point would be great, but I'd love to see what Chris and company could do with a slip joint...insert drooling smilie here...

Beautiful leather work Gary!!
How do you mold the leather like that, the form is so sharp?
Thanks for posting the photos and information about the folder!!
I really like that little knife. Don't know why I haven't made more of em.
I like the way you polished the scales. I did the same thing to a set of those stag bone scales on a folder I'm almost finished with. The bone looks a thousand times better than the fake stag ever did. Here's a pic of it, all it needs is the thumb bob.

The color in the blade is a reflection of my hand. :)
I finally got the false edge ground right on this one. Instead of trying to grind it across the wheel like before I thought, why not do it like you do your bowies, and it worked fine. Sure does pep up the looks of a knife!
Thanks for the compliments and the encouragement folks!!!
Take care everyone!
Michael

Thanks Mike! Glad to see you chimed in, it's a great little folder, a keeper! I need to someday take time for myself and make a sheath to carry her in  like the cobbler with no shoes for himself...

Nice knife that you posted as well, good job on the swedge too!
