I have the new S30V Military on order, I can't wait! I haven't been this excited about getting a new knife for a long time. :D

I'm interested to see just how big this knife is: I know how big it's supposed to be from the measurements but sometimes when I actually handle a knife it can seem completely different from how I imagined. Anyone got any pictures of the Military "in hand" or next to say an Endura to tease me with?

It should be here within 14 days from yesterday...

...are we nearly there yet? :D

The Military does not feel near as big as it looks.Fits my hand perfectly. You may be able to see a little about the size in this pic.

Big? Doesn't feel that way carrying it. The thin profile doesn't have the Mr. Bulky look or grip. But looking down on the blade thickness, or brownie popping the blade - whoa!

I don't exactly have big hands... ok, normal sized palms and long skinny fingers. I can fully palm an open dragonfly. I grip my millie and I can use the whole handle.

index in choil, middle over lock, pinky resting right in front of the rear bulge, thumb right dead on the grip notches.

same basic grip I use on my endura, and it looks really small... seat the very end right agaist the meat on your palm(under thumb), and hook your index around the front(has a nice kick area, almost a 1/2 choil)... thumb still hits on the thumb ramp. nice blade control, especially tip when I'm cutting tarps.

or I could just have big hands.

you are going to love it and dont worry about the size. It doenst feel like anything in you hand!!

....waiting to get a para-military....

I honestly can't understand all this excitement over the Para-Military. Don't get me wrong, I hope Spyderco sells a cool billion of 'em. But the original profile (latest run in S30V) C36 Military is the absolute best folding knife ever designed. Period. End of story.

Harry,

I agree, but I think having a smaller military that I can wear out and about in front of the sheeple and that is more in line with the carry laws of some states (not mine as far as I know) would be great!!

Kind of the same as a delica is to the endura...
