My BK16 claimed the rank of my "go to" knife long ago. I am only a hobbyist in terms of knife making, but I decided to make myself a minature version for the fun of it. This is the end result.

Specs:
Steel: 7/64" stock L-6
OAL: 8 3/4"
Blade Length: 3 1/4"
Scales: Saint Cutlery
Finish: Convex edge w/ gun metal blue finish

I'm currently working on a sheepsfoot version with the PB scales. I'll post it when I'm finished. Comments and critiques are welcome and thanks for looking.

Okay, Wooly, you've pretty much stumbled on my vision of a perfect EDC Becker. A Tweener with a blade around 3 1/2" and a handle around 4". My current EDC fixed blade is an Esee-3, but only because Becker doesn't make a knife with those dimesions. Your Mini 16 loooks great.

awesome!
continuing a tradition. ;-)

Thanks Wooly B! Now I know that there's one more knife that I'll dream about but never own! :grumpy:

Very nice work!!!!

Wow! That's the best mod of a 16 I've seen yet. Great work for a 'hobbyist'. What did you use to flatten/thin the blade? Again...nice work! Those scales are pretty sweet too.

Thanks guys. I'm still at work but I'll try to get some comparison shots up tomorrow. I made one of these for my buddy venmm73, here on BF, and he has been putting it through it's paces. Maybe he'll chime in with a performance review. :D

I like it more than the original. What's the OAL?

8 ¼” OAL

Thanks but it's an entirely different blade based on the 16 design. I used L6 steel and shaped it to the profile of a 16 with a 3.25" blade and the tweener handle.

What is saint cutlery ?

They are an eBay vendor that made micarta and G10 scales that fit various Becker models. They haven't listed anything in a while but their scales were/are top notch. This is their page.

That's right I got the first one. :) I love it .the perfect size . I usually like at least 1/8 blade thickness but I feel this is plenty thick. I have used it in the kitchen ,processed wood, made feather sticks. And everything else ive needed a knife for since I got it in the mail. It hasn't left my side. No edge damage at all stayed sharp . touched up on my strop easy. Only thing I did was make some liners to beef up the handle a bit. I will post pics of mine tomorrow . They won't post from my phone. Be jealous if you don't have one yet  for a first knife DT hit it out of the park IMO .
