It arrived. Very impressed, perfect size for EDC, I could see where the extra room on the CQC15 would be nice to have but I think the trade off of the more compact package is worth it to me. Very impressed with absolutely everything, love the standoffs, F&F is great, razor sharp, blade is centered, opens smoothly not one complaint. Love the blade shape! Exceeded my expectations.

Congratulations on your newest Emerson. The full sized CQC-15 was my first, and still one of my favorites. I should have gone with the stone washed finish like yours though, it looks better than the coated ones. Use it in good health

Hmmmm, something i have always wondered is whether or not you can use the emerson wave comfortably as a thumb rest or not. Seems your pinky might be a bit awkward on it. On my mini 7, its my only gripe. Such a gorgeous looking blade, very nice knife!

Thanks guys, I haven't purchased a knife in a while (read 5 months) and this is one I have wanted for a couple of years. I was also worried about the thumb ramp. You probably read in my first post that I handled the Mini briefly and that is something I thought might be uncomfortable. Anyway, now that I have spent some time with it ... I like it, feels really natural and gives your a feeling of control and good purchase on the knife. It is a really stout little knife, just the perfect thickness.

This.^
Will there be another Emerson for you?

Yes definitely. I was torn between this one and the Roadhouse, so I would think one of the Roadhouse models next. I am really interested to see the ZT collaboration as well.

Yes, the wave makes a great thumb rest. Feels natural.

I'm stuck between trying one of these out or a mini commander. I'm leaning towards the commander.

Have you thought about a standard Commander? There is only like 1/3" difference in blade length.

The Super is a little large for my paws, just a hair. My regular 8 is perfect.

So the regular Commander might be perfect as well, but my Super looks so damn good I think I'll just stay here for awhile.

Plus I got number 1122, which I like, and as the only other person to hold it cut himself on it (only slightly thank goodness) I think it was telling me that it is the only Commander I need to concern myself with.

Proud Papa! :tears_of_joy:

I know what you mean I was also going back and forth between the Commander the 15 and also the Roadhouse. I like the handle shape better on the CQC15 and the Roadhouse than the commander. I really like that pommel at the end it just locks your hand in and it has the best ergonomics of all of my knives. I also like the grind of the CQC15 the most of the 3. But that's just my opinion.

I may be in the market for another Emerson in a few months...gotta be honest, that 15 is lookin' good

Best of both worlds, huh?

I think it is a good choice, I was much more impressed than I thought I would be. There is nothing I dislike about this knife.

The 15 has always been one that i've looked at but never pulled the trigger on. Its never too late, but i'm saving for a Persian at the moment.

I'll tell you, that is one cool looking knife. I need to continue my Commander quest right now though. I'm thinking Jungle next. But this knife is definitely one I'd get afterward.
