My Mini Grip disappeared. Maybe time for something different?

My Beloved 556 Mini Grip is MIA. I've no idea what has become of it, and I'm pretty aggravated since I am generally not careless with my things. I liked it so much that I had gotten rid of all my other modern folders over the years that I had the Mini Grip in my edc rotation.

Anyway, I could simply get another one, but I thought I'd see what else might fit the bill. The Mini Grip 556 was just about perfect, although I didn't care for the handle material and rough texture. It didn't bug me enough to replace the scales, though. The North Fork looks great with the diamond wood, but I don't care for the recurve. The Sequel has really caught my eye, as it seems more pocket-friendly and elegant looking than the 556. Is it really worth the extra $40 bucks?

I'm no collector, I'm a user. This knife would do regular edc duty when I don't want to tote around an Izula/multitool combo.
 
If you're looking at the Sequel, try and handle one in person before purchasing. There seems to be ever so slightly less usable handle length on the Sequel than the 556.

556, 585/6, 525 I can all get a good grip on. 707 is just barely shorter, enough to not work for me, so I don't end up carrying mine too often.
 
Okay, got a 707 Sequel incoming. Pretty good deal on it too from that big auction site everyone likes - paid about what a regular Mini Grip might cost.:cool:

We'll see how it feels in hand. I have medium hands with slender fingers, so small knives don't bother me. I hope it works out.

BTW, will the deep Adamas clip fit this knife? Is BM likely to send me one if I ask nicely?:)

It's up to you, but you may get your clip faster if you call them directly. Some haven't had good luck with emails.
 
Aaron, the BM customer service guy, emailed me and said the Adamas-style deep carry clip is en route.

Pretty impressed with BM customer service!:cool:

Also, my 707 Sequel showed up in the mail a day early today. Like a nicer Mini Grip, as expected.
 
I really liked my mini-grip but ever since I got my Ritter mini-grip, I haven't even looked back at my original mini-grip. The Ritter version is worth taking a look at in my opinion if you liked your 556
