I got a brand-spanking-new Mnandi w/Bocote inlays off eBay. It's DOB is February of this year. It is absolutely the most beautiful "Gent's" knife that I have ever seen. I'll do a short review once I've used it for a few weeks.

Congrats! I think you will really like your Mnandi. I do have one bit of advice for you though -- use it! It's a real performer if you give it a chance; don't just carry it as pocket jewelry. I was reluctant to use mine at first, for about a month I mainly just admired it. Now, I use it for all kinds of cutting tasks and I let it ride loose in my pocket with change and various other items. Its appearance has held up suprisingly well -- very few minor character marks despite my carry method. But most amazing of all, I find the Mnandi cuts just about as well, and sometimes even better, than my small Seb for all but the most demanding tasks. And as for daily carry, it's less than half the weight of my small Seb and I really appreciate that too.

Great pick for a gent's knife that really a whole lot more knife than most realize!

I agree with Charlie. The cutting ability of the Mnandi is way out of proportion to its size. It sure works hard for a knife that size. Don't be shy about using it! I love mine!  :D ;) :p

Thanks for the comments guys. They really give me confidence to go out and put my Mnandi through it's paces. I'll let you know how it goes.

I got a NIB leftie Mnandi with African Blackwood inlay from iamamt this week (cheers Matt)

Very impressed so far and I have decided to use it as my EDC for work for a couple of weeks instead of a small seb to see how it gets on.

I took it apart the day it arrived and the inside of the pivot assembly is anodised? a lovely blue/purple colour that cant be seen at al unless you strip it down. I had not seen this mentioned here before? I thought you could not anodise steel?

Very smooth action, much smoother than any of my sebenza's which supried me a bit.

Now I NEED a wood inlay seb to keep it company

Enjoy them folks. They are awesome little knives.

I just got an African Blackwood Mnandi in a trade with my local dealer for a '99 unique graphic small sebenza. I love it! It's the nicest knife I've ever owned. The quality and beauty is outstanding! I do try to use it as much as I can bc I know it's quite capable, but it's not my "user" persay, just my EDC. I love the machined Ti clip, the curved backspacer, the polished and blasted handle, and especially the blue anodized CR logo. Now, bagman, what do you mean the pivot assembly is anodized? Which part? I really don't want to take mine apart just yet to find out, so could you explain?
:D

JediKnight86 - the anodised bit is the pivot pin that goes through the bushing/bush? and the attached "cap" with the CRK logo on.

Even the inside of the screw threads are the same colour.

Is this not normal for Mnandi's ?

I dont have my camera at work so cant try for a pic but I'm not sure if it would come out that well being so small. I will try over the weekend for a picture.
