Mods:
1. Black G10 handles w/fancy pins
2. Finger sized choil
3. Complete handle re-profile. Rounded butt, top to bottom re-contour and reduction of width.
4. Clip point profile increased
5. Thumb rest dished more and smoothed
6. Paint removed
7. polished to 1500 grit then back down to 800 for a frosted finish
8. Cold blue'd to dark grey/black color.
With the changes to the blade clip profile and removal of a lot of unwanted handles steel (like the hammer butt), the knife is much faster in the hand (a bit lighter, and balanced differently). Basically slightly less utility, more combat. I hated the hammer butt as it made it uncomfortable to hold at rear of knife; plus the last time I tried to pound in a aluminum tent stake with a knife way back in the Marines, I hit off-center and managed to cut the hell out of my hand on the stake...so I been turned-off to using a knife as a hammer
.
Sorry for the lousy pics, my camera flash wasn't working right so it's just overhead incandescent lighting. The lanyard hole is there, its just hard to see because of the crappy photos.
