My Modest Custom Emerson Collection

So, I was tooling around my safe today and decided to take some pics. These pics comprise my Custom Emerson Collection. I think it is modest in comparison to some here. I am not into the pearl scales (although I like them), or one offs. I went for collecting customs that were made with titanium bolsters. I also did not see the need to collect two or more of the same blade style, i.e., Supers or minis. I have two Supers in the collection, but they represent that model style. I am still looking for a A100 and a MV-1. But I am in no hurry. I prefer not to spend over $1,000 a piece for them. As far as fixed blades go, I am waiting for Mr. E to deliver the Kandahar I ordered about 6 years ago.

So tell me what you think and also what you think the value is. I have no plans to sell them, but I am curious as to what all of them are worth.

I wish I had just a fraction of your "modest" collection. Very nice:thumbup:

Been asked a few times about the collection. This collection represents about 15 years of saving, trading, selling, and collecting. Let's just say that I have seen at least one other collection that encompasses at least one knife of EVERY custom knife that Mr. E has made in the last 20 years. This guy's collection has over 400 knives from 8 different maker's, to include Onion, Mayo, Lum, and Loveless, that goes back 30 years. I wanted to model my Emerson collection after his, but this guy still has custom knife orders with Mr. E that include some heavy weight models.

I asked this collector how he started out, he simply stated, that he had a goal to collect custom knives from the best tactical knifemakers. He added that he put in orders with these guys back when they weren't the big names that they are now. His collection has to be worth an easy $200,000. And he is NOT rich. In fact, he is a police officer. He just buys knives from the makers at the makers advertised price, and not the marked up price from a dealer or from an auction. He averages one a month.

So it can be done. Just have patience and resist the urge to buy fad knives and stick to the best makers. This collection is only of Emersons, I also have other makers. But I try to buy knives from the maker when I can.

That is a collection of customs well worth being proud of.:thumbup:

I personally have a few concerns about posting stuff like this on an open forum though.
It does give a bit of a potential "heads up" to scammers and thieves in general.

I have a bit of a salty past so that may be why I tend to be more guarded about my collections etc.

Emerson knife values have plummeted. They are worth a couple hundred a piece. Which ones will you sell me? :)

I understand your concerns. Let's just say, if you come to my house, you will experience "Bad Intent". I am a Navy vet and I am in Law Enforcement, and my wife is US Army CID. Needless to say, we know how to SHOOT, our dog knows how to BITE, and the house alarm works just fine! Oh, and did I mention that my neighborhood is full of cops and Federal agents. Can you say 0% crime rate!
