Not long ago, I decided I would like to modify the pen blade on my Case Peanut. I felt I didn't need two "pointy" blades, and I like having a sheepsfoot-style blade for its utility...so I re-ground the pen blade to a semi-sheepsfoot. The tip is somewhat rounded, but I feel it only adds to its utility value. Overall, I find my "mod" to be very useful! It gets more pocket time than any of my other pocketknives do! I love the light weight of this little jewel!

Hi Ron!

Nice mod! This seems to be really useful. Sheepfoot is a real universal bladeshape. I like that very much!

Which tools did you use for this?

Well done, my friend :)

Kind regards
Andi

Wil, I personally like a sheepsfoot blade for a lot of the cutting I do. I find it handier to use than the spearpoint pen blade. As I originally stated it's my personal preference. But this is a free country and you are entitled to make any comment you so wish. Have a good day.

The more rounded tip allows the user to cut boxes or packages open without puncturing or damaging whatever is inside.
Sometimes the tip will also get caught or snag on something other than what you're trying to cut.
I think it's a handy mod.

Nice job on that mod! Peanuts are great since they are relatively inexpensive and I do not
worry about altering them. I dyed my yellow peanut orange on Sat with Rit dye so
it would stand out more for use in the woods. Came out great!

I'd like to see a photo of that-sounds good.

I love seeing pics of customized production knives that have been altered to meet the users specific needs. I for one seldom use the pen blade on my peanuts but even I kinda dig the minuscule sheepsfoot blade.

One thing that keeps me from more Case knives is their repetitive use of the same style blade on the same knife. Mix it up. And quit polishing the points off your clip blades.

i did the same to one of my Peanuts a while back. really ups the versatility.

they should make it a factory model like they do with wharncliffe trappers.
