Okay, I was so pleased with the result of my modified IZULA sheath, I repeated the process on two more sheaths with one being my neck sheath that I had modified a couple months ago and another "pocket" sheath I modified and now is a belt sheath with the addition of a TEK Lock. The sheath material is so forgiving and actually rather easy to cut, then file to do the final shaping.

looks great! I've been thinking about cutting mine down like your neck sheath. I think it would be more comfortable in the pocket as well.

The smaller neck sheath is not so good in the pocket. It gets lost and moves around too much. That is why I use the other version in my pocket. The neck sheath turns out to be perfect for holding the knife and allowing easy neck release, but, not accidental release.

hmm, maybe I'll leave it as is, then. I like to EDC it in my pocket and wear it around my neck in the woods, so I don't want to modify it so that it's best only one way.

Thanks for the insight.

Nice sheaths, nice work.

My buddy cut down his izula sheath along the knife outline and slapped a Niteize clip on it. Extremely low profile and it is great for IWB carry.

Myself, I took mine down a bit since I don't neck carry. Shaved off some weight and it makes it much more pocketable. I do rock waistband carry every once in a while so I wanted to leave that option.

Just cut mine down with the Izula and used a little sand paper to finish it. My friend really wanted to speed the job along with his sanding belt, but it was fun doing it manually.

Hope you don't mind me adding to your thread. I think it would be cool to see everyone's modified stock Izula sheath's.

I think I might make myself a couple different Kydex sheaths. One for pocket carry and one for neck carry.

I don't mind at all. That sheath looks great also. I kept the bottom of mine a little flatter and it seems to keep it in position in my pocket pretty well.

I hear ya.

I don't seem to have any problems with it shifting in my pocket, but I don't pocket carry all that much. Kinda like it on my waist. Just wanted it to take up as little space as possible. I'll try to get a pic of my buddies sheath to add on here, might give people some additional ideas.

I would like the stock sheath to just have two holes on the top instead of that big open gap.

Hey SMI if you don't mind me asking, how did you wrap your Izula handle? If you could post directions I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

OK - I admit - maybe I'm tired or something, but I had to look at your pic a couple times before I noticed what you did (and I EDC my Izula!!!). Nice job!

That is where I got the idea. Once I finished what was in the tutorial above, I just wrapped the cord twice around the entire handle (since I couldn't do knots at that point). After twice around, I did three more knots exactly like the tutorial above. Then I took each strand and looped it around once (like a lot of people do on the entire circle). Then I looped it once more, but that time I pulled it through itself so it stays tight. I hope that helps a bit, I'll try to do some pics in another thread if I find some time.

Thanks. Ha, I admit it does look quite funky at first glance.

I'm hoping more people chime in here with their mods, I really like pulling ideas from threads like these.

Here is one more for you guys. This is my buddies sheath, he cut it down to the knife outline and added a clip to it.
