Chops super well, but lots of feedback due to the full tang and lacks of handle. It started life as a KLVUK, I grind and hammer it down it what it is now. Also ghetto quench it in motor oil, doubt it do anything though because I didn't keep track of the temperature but so far it hold edges very very well. Temporary added a silicon bike handlebar handle to it.

You turned it into a Thai Enep:) Very interesting. BTW, Jay was wondering who stole the grip from his bike:p

The knife snap off by the handle while batoning some log for fire wood. I am eagerly waiting for my replacement from auntie, couldn't be happier with HI customer service. While waiting I decide to bring the steel back to knife again like it deserve.

Do you have plans to do some kind of rehandling beyond the wrap?

That blade would be nice on the end of a 10"-12" long hardwood handle. Knife, hatchet and axe all in one. Maybe a cutoff baseball bat, where the heel of the handle would have some of the flavor of the flare on the end of a traditional khukuri handle.

Most likely a micarta or wood handle. You mean like a two handed kukri machete.....I am not sure it's safe to attach a heavy knife to the wood that the baseball bat used, metal yes but not wood.

Ah I see now. I was wondering why you had removed so much metal. Glad to see you made the best of it.

The reason I've been thinking of a 10"-12" handle is it could be used one-handed or two-handed. With a kukri blade it would be more of a chopper than a machete, but you get the idea.

There would be a lot of options for handle material and ways to attach it to the tang. You're right that strength and safety are an issue.

I've been thinking about this ever since a recent thread about 22" 64 oz Ganga Rams, where the blade is huge and heavy, just begging for a two-handed handle. A less expensive blem version with a broken chiruwa-type handle might be ideal for this experiment. Then I saw your post.
