I found an old Mora Scout (I think..?) which was completely rusted, since it had been laying outdoors for several years. So, I decided it was the perfect candidate for my first attempt at making some type of knife, if you can call it that.
I stripped the knife from it's handle and took it apart, placing the finger guard and blade in a bath of citric acid to clean off the rust. Then I cut off the back end of the finger guard and resharpened the blade on a Tormek T7 and oiled it for protection. The handle is made from epoxy and I just sprayed it down after sanding. I know the paint will wear off quite fast and I'm doubtful as to the longevity of the handle material, but I thought it would be a fun project nonetheless.
Anyway, this is what it looks like:
