Went fishing yesterday, caught one foot long catfish and two sunfish on nightcrawlers. I had a Frosts Mora, another Swedish Mora and my Spyderco Pacific Salt. Didn't use the second Mora at all, used the Pac Salt to cut open a two pack of Pringles, and to cut a piece of fishing line :o . Hey, it cut pretty well:) .

But I did use the Mora. I think this is the best 5 bucks I've ever spent on a single knife! I cut some fishing line, bait etc. Sailed through it like butter. Caught a bait fish, and the knife didn't stop while preparing it for bait. Made three good cuts, and the knife never snagged, nothing. The grip was good also, cutting without gloves. Wiped the blood off, got home, saw that there was a speck of blood on the knife, wiped it off, still there, scrubbed it off, and quickly dried it. Discoloration, rust etc isn't going to bother me on this knife, but I rechecked it this morning before work, and the knife looks brand new! Every bait shop should have a wall of these things!

Thin blade stock plus decent sharpness = good knife. And the steel's not too shabby on the few cheap Mora's I've used (SS, non-laminated).
Great knife :D.

All my moras are carbon and laminated carbon blades. They are the best low cost knives to be found anywhere! Think about it, for the cost of a chinese made piece of junk you can have a quality blade of excellent steel.

Were you using the red handled barrel model? I have the plastic handled ones & they cut great. The Frosts Army model always goes with me on fishing trips.

I'm about the order what could be the same model (Eriksson # 911) from Ragweed Forge, plus a small carving knife with a laminated blade for whittling. Thanks for the review.
