After a long and convoluted shipping process, my Blackjack Model 12 arrived on Monday. Overall I am pretty happy with this knive. Fit and finish was pretty good (one of the handle pins sticks out a hair), and the sheath is fairly nice. The blade came very sharp and cut some cardboard very nicely. There are some ergonomic issues, however. I can get a four fingered grip on the knife, but it is fairly uncomfortable. A three finger grip is ok, but would probably be improved by a lanyard. The only modification I consider would be to grind off the top guard, as that would make a four finger grip a bit more comfy. I ordered this knife as a classy EDC fix blade, and this should fit the bill quite nicely.

Congratulations. I always liked the Model 125 myself, they have a few nice designs. I looked on their website, but didn't see their "Dirk" model anymore. That one I really like.

I just got one too. Question: how the heck do you operate the sheath? I'm guessing you need to press down on the flap with the female part of the snap but I can't get it to release.

Very carefully. :o

It's a sheath with excellent retention, but awful access. I've found that disengaging the flap with my thumb seems to work the best. I carry it OWB, so access is a little easier.
