My Mother Passed Away

My mother passed away this morning at about 1:30. She would have been 85 on the 19th of this month. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 2 weeks ago and was to start chemo today. She refused surgery. Monday she wasn’t feeling well so my sister (an RN) took her to the emergency room where they determined she had had a mild heart attack. She had signed a DNR so they kept her as comfortable as possible to the end. I live 200 miles away ( and am in relatively poor health) so I couldn’t be there but I will be making the trip later today. Please keep her in your prayers.

Even at my age, it isn’t easy to lose a parent (my father is still with us, at least). So, if you live near your parents go over and give them a hug. If you live far away, call them. I call my parents twice a week and last spoke to Mom Saturday – I’m glad I did.

Thanks for listening – it helped to get this off my chest. Maybe now I can catch some sleep.

I'll be away from any computers so you won't be hearing from me for a while.

Condonlences to you kind sir. May your health improve, and sorry to hear of your great loss.

Dave

My condonlences to you and yours. May God rest her soul. What was your mother's name so that I mention it in my prayers?

My thoughts and prayers out to you and yours.

My Dad was taken by cancer rather quickly as well and I barely made it home from overseas before he passed. He had signed the DNR and refused heroic treatment measures also. Dad was only 62 but it is hard losing a parent at any age. Hold on to what you have and cherish the memories you shared.

May God bless and comfort you, Ron.

Even as a grown man, the mention of the death of a parent brings tears to my eye's. Take comfort in the fact that she has gone to a better place. My prayers are with you.

My condolences to you and your family, ronsec. I will be holding you all in the Light.

Prayers sent man, give your father a squeeze.

My most sincere condolences and sympathy. While I obviously never knew your mother, I'm sure she was a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart and soul. I hope that your memories of her will bring you some comfort in the days and years to come.

Travel well and safely.

No matter how old you are when a parent dies, you stop being a child. My mom died 4 years ago on the 19th of november, it´s like it was yesterday.
My condolences.

Sorry for your loss. Prayers sent for you and yours.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. Just as we always remain our Mother's "little boys" in their hearts, they're always "Mom" and it is always too soon for them to leave us.

God speed!

AJ
