It is a nice deep dark black. The coatingg is very even. I am sending it to the Strider guys tomorrow to get the cord warp put back on.

I will post pics as soon as it gets back from the Strider Guys.

Thanks Ann and Darrell at Bodycote. You guys did a fabulous job and have great customer service. You can consider me a unpaid rep for the company.

Zach:

Do you have contact info for Darrell (besides e-mail). I've been to their website, but it's rather extensive. A phone # would be great!

TIA,

Squid

Zach,

If you don't mind my asking, what did the coating set you back? (You can email me offline if you'd prefer.)

What was the turn-around time on the work?

Thanks in advance,

Boron carbide is $25 for the first blade and $2 an inch for additional blades. The Tech-12 depends on the application
but is not really expensive.

It would be worth it. The tiger stripe finish is nice, but damn that BC would look great on an AR or GB!

Zach, what was the total time frame it put you out of the knife from the day you shipped to it coming back?

It took about 3 weeks if I remember correctly.

I thought about getting my AR done but havent had a chance to email Strider about assembly and disassembly. I will have to do that soon.

It really is great stuff. Bodycote is coming out with a new coating which is supposed to be even better.

Two things.

I absolutely love my MT-L. This thing has to be the epitome of a fixed blade. Great shape and perfect size.

I have a couple of blades on the way with the coating and they left
the stripes on. It should be cool. Pics when they show up.

I would like to take credit for the idea but I did it on advice from Duane. He told me abou the tech-12 and is great. Hardcore knife with a hardcore coating. :D
