I stripped all the coating off my necker, forced a nice even grey patina with red wine vineger and touched up the convex edge. I really like the look of the grey patina. My RC3 will be next. :D

Looks Cool. I wonder how it will look/hold up in the long run.

I am not sure about the 1095CV steel myself, however it took the patina better than my carbon Moras. The Moras have not rusted with the same treatment, going on two years of use. Hope the Necker does well also.

Nice Necker. I need some more carbon steel blades so I can try some patinas.

That's a good looking user RC3 you have there too.

What type of work has it seen to get that well worn look?

The RC3 is one of my favorite fixed blades and does indeed see its share of hard work. While I respect the limits of my knives, I sometimes push the RC3 a bit hard.
It has seen baton work for camp fires, field dressed a lot of deer and is my go to fixed blade, for most everything. I also carry it when I can get away with my shirt untucked. But...the little Necker is seeing its fair share of carry time on the neck and rear pocket. The little Necker is growing on me and has a very nice blade design.
I like them both and I use them!

Thank you. Well since I have refinished it, I have been using it a good deal.
If anything, it seems that the patina is wearing off, revealing bare metal. To my astonishment there has been no rusting! It seems to be fine so far. I have oiled it a few times with RemOil and it is maintaining so far. I will check back in a month or so with an update,
