Okay, I'm in the process of trimming down my collection, right? Sold a few knives on this forum already, am planning on getting rid of more. Well . . . sigh.

I made the mistake of looking on ebay. Saw a stag handled vintage Blackjack. It had just enough use to give it a little character, but looked in basically good condition.

I'm a sucker for the old Blackjacks.

Guess what?

Its ok, I often experience this phenomena with tacos.

You go for a glass of water and there they are, all beefy and cheesey. Anyway thats a really nice knife.

tell me what they were and Ill make up unfounded, malicious rumors about them so you will be totally convinced to not buy them. we have to stick together or were going to spend all of our student loan spill over money we were supposed to use on books...

I am very proud of myself. I have SUCCESSFULLY restrained myself from purchasing the following knives this past week:

A NIB vintage balisong with tanto blade and black micarta scales,
A CF UTX-70 that someone reground so it was being sold cheap,
A MOD Razorback,
and a really cool knife a forumite made from scrap rebar.

They would've just sat in my drawer anyway, I saved nearly $400, and now I can buy new glasses instead.

I used to look at a knife and think, "Well, if I don't like it I'll just sell it for less than I paid for it and I won't buy another knife this year" . . , "Oh, but I need to make an exception for that one, just this once."

When going through my knives to pick out some to sell, I found stuff I'd forgotten about. Part of my decision to reduce my collection. What good is a knife doing me that's been sitting in a box for years? But they I seem something that catches my eye, and for some reason I "have" to have it".

I was recently able to buy a couple of out-of-production & sprint run knives that I have been looking at for over a year and a half of not buying anything knife related.

Then I got laid off. :(

That's how it goes I guess! Back to compiling a list of 'stuff to buy' in 2011.... :D

I go through stages. I'll be real into buying knives for a few months, then I'll sorta talk a break and concentrate on another hobby or interest; then go back into a knife buying binge. I won't buy one for three of four months, then go on a buying binge. Depending, of course, on the availibilty of spare cash. I'm in business for myself, and sometimes it's chicken, sometimes it's feathers.

City of Frederick - downtown - N. Market Street - Edgeworks - been there for years.

http://www.edgeworksonline.com/

Whenever I'm in Frederick I stop by.

I get absolutely nothing from this at all. I am a frequent customer because I try to support one of the few stores in the area that feed my hobby. The guy is just trying to stay afloat, and I try to help when I can.

I totally decided not to buy a new knife - good news.:D

I bought the Surefire Pen II - bad news.:(

Hey knifeaholic or knife whore, somebody has to live to tell the story, the one with the knife lives and gets to tell the story anyway they want to.
