I'm pretty happy with the 3 line...it's in excellent shape for a 1972 that was used :D

I've got my work cut out for me on this one though...but I look forward to making this one serviceable again....

Now I'm off to have my HEAD EXAMINED !!!!!;)

Great. I have a 3 spacer like your lower one with the point structure of your upper one. I enjoy using it. The 112 will need new handle material but the bad scratches
should come out. Plus, the blade being 425 steel its worth trying to save. DM

I saw that NS 112 in that lot but didn't know it was so abused. Poor thing. Hope you can get it back into shape. I have all the faith in the world that you can.

Mind doing a full thread on how you do it?

:( That poor 112! I see knives like that one all the time. Why would someone beat on a knife like that, what did it ever do to them?
David is right though, it can be saved. The only thing that may make it tough is if the brass is deformed a lot around the beat marks. If it is, sometimes it impinges on the rocker, preventing it from moving up and down freely. It will make a fun project.
Nice bunch of knives!

Thanx Joe, actually the rocker action is fine, there is just a little fore and aft blade play. I need to get some NS pin stock before I begin and I will check out the bushing as well once I get the blade out. I have a piece of African Blackwood that will make some beautiful scales for it :)

I have a 110 two dot that I fished out of the bay a couple of weeks ago that looks like it has done time with your 112. I'd love to see how you go about restoring it and see if I can attempt something similar.

Buy a hammer to hammer, buy a knife to cut. As Casey said, do show us the repair of this poor 112.

I like the 120.

You don't see so many 120s where the spacer on the guard extends all the way out instead of being clipped off.

Thanx BG , those burgundy spacers do look nice! I think after the holidays I'm going to spiff that one up a little :)

hmm, seems like the previous owner of that 112 was the kind of guy who would beat on things with a crescent wrench instead of fetching the hammer... Because we all know 5 feet is "too far to just get a glorified piece of steel with a handle" :D
I knew a few people like that... One of em used a Maglite to drive a nail once.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
If the only tool you have is a knife......
