I picked up a 4-Max today and am really impressed. I have owned many ZT's, Spyderco, Benchmade, Strider, Emerson, Shirogorov, Chris Reeve, and others. The quality is on par with those knives. This 4-Max is flawless and is by far the beefiest folder I have ever had. It is almost over done. Very impresssed with the feel of the Tri-Ad lock and it alsmost makes the ones in the regular lineup seem flawed. Makes me wish that CS could get all of them to be this smooth. It truly shows that in my mind the Tri-Ad is the best folder lock.

Here is is next to my ZT 0909 which I considered a large folder, which almost feels like a Spydeco Delica next to the 4-Max.

And here is is next to my Ruger Super Blackhawk 44mag.

Love it. Too bad they will be made in Italy soon. Nothing wrong with that really, just think a US made cold steel folder is pretty damn special. I will have one someday.

Very nice! Your picture of it next to the Blackhawk really puts it into perspective for me. Let us know how it performs. Enjoy!

Thanks for the perspective pics. I didn't realize that it was such a big mamma jamma. You have some nice steel there buddy.

I think the msrp also came down a bit. If you don't mind the grey color scale and not made in USA, then it might be better to wait. Personally I prefer quality over where it's made, and im pretty confident that Italian quality is on par or even better. Anyone noticed from the new 4max pic the blade shape is slightly different?

So I EDC'd it today.....and, it is at the limits to what I like to carry. Very noticeable in my pocket for the first hour, then I did not notice it the rest of the day. It is a beast.
