I just bought a knife for .75 cents. It seems I have $84.24 saved up on my Cabelas Points and the knife is $84.99. This is my best knife deal ever. Here it is:

Gerber Freeman™ S30V® Folding Blade Knives

The next generation in long-lasting cutlery performance. Revolutionary S30V® steel blades are harder, more wear resistant and far less brittle than any standard 440C series stainless steel blade. Tests also show 45% better edge retention than 440C stainless. Blade is Boron Carbide-coated for even greater wear resistance and strength. Handsome cocobolo handles are checkered with artisan's skill in an intricate 16-lines-per-inch pattern. Each knife comes with a heavy weight 7-oz. leather sheath. Made the USA.
Available:

Folder Drop Point - Dual thumb-studs for easy one-hand opening and an open liner-lock design for easy cleaning. Blade length: 3-1/2". Overall length: 8". Weight: 6.5 oz.

MV out! :)

For $.75 I would have bought two..... and yes I understand that wasn't a possibility. That is the nicest $.75 knife I hace ever seen.

I have a friend who got a great deal, not quite as good as yours, in a similar way. He ended up getting a Boker 2 inch ceramic folder for under $15.

I thought they were fixed blade. I don't see a rivet on the top illustration.
I really like that checkered handle.

I'm glad to know that Gerber makes the Freeman in the USA.
(At least the S30V version.)

I'd thought it was produced overseas, like most Gerbers.

I would have spent mine on a D2 griptillian but to each their own. I have 70 in Points myself to use soon

I Love Cabelas

Let me see if I understand you. You are saying that you bought a knife for 3/4 of a penny?

I really like that checkered handle.

I think they are available in 4 versions:
Fixed drop point
Fixed gut hook
Folding drop point
Folding gut hook

The first picture is the fixed the second is a pic of the folder. Seems pretty massive to me. Maybe Gerber is finally making a comeback. 'bout time!

OK, 75 cents or $.75 for the perfectionist types. I don't know about the thumb stud in the picture. It is suppose to have them. I will let you know when it arrives.

I did the research and the first knife in the picture is a fixed blade. The second knife is the folder with a gut hook. The drop point folder is not shown, but similar to the blade on the first knife and folder on the second knife. Did I say that right? MV out!

Aren't ya gonna be all shy about wrecking the checkering? It's so purdy in the pictures. I was tempted by the fixed one a while back and now a folder.
Have they no mercy?

:D

If I buy a knife for a collector it goes in the glass cabinet. If I buy a knife for use, it gets used. I like this one because of the steel, made in the USA, and the handle opens for cleaning which is important after field dressing game.

And maybe....because I am a knife nut. MV out!

Edit- I found this article that shows the knife better. Apparently only Cabelas has this knife in this configuration. Poor Impulse Control
