Auntie Yangdu sent me a suprise for my birthday last week and it arived this afternoon right as I was walking out my door to head to work. It turned out to be a new Amar Singh Thapa Khukri and it is awesome!! When this knife first showed up for sale I made the comment that I hoped the Kami's would keep making it so I could get one this summer and Yandgu must have been listening. Thanks a bunch!!!
Specs are as follows:
Length over all: 18-3/4"
Blade Thickness: 1/2"
blade width: 2-1/4"
handle length: about 6" (top of bolster to butt)
White mettle fixings
Rosewood handle?
Weight 2 pounds 9.7 ounces (41.7oz)
Since I live in student housing I have not had a chance to cut anything with the blade except for the tube it came in. The curve and over all shape lends it's self to stabbing and I poked the box a ton. It feels like it will make a great chopper and when I hold it I want to give a battle cry and fight orks or something.
Here are some pictures:
Yangdu, thanks again! And hope you all enjoy the pictures.
