The new one arrived about a week ago, the other one I purchased on the Exchange about a year ago.
Together (new - one in snakewood - on bottom)
It doesn't show up well in pictures but there are dark shadows on both sides of the blade, and a couple of small bluish grey spots on the logo side. There's also a dark spot on the spine. I tried cleaning it, and it faded until fully dried...then came back looking just the same. I'll admit to being a little disappointed in the finish at first; but I planned on this being carried & used, so I'll have my own marks on it soon enough.
My attempt at getting a picture of it. (I can see them clearly, but I have the benefit of seeing it in person)
