My new anvil and dumb photos to go with it!

I've had a Hercules 110lb. anvil for about 4 or 5 years now. It's decent, and has been a really good tool for learning.

But I've always wanted a bigger one. And always miss out on them. I was all ready to go up and buy a brand new Nimba Centurion when one came up on Craig's list in Portland.

Getting it turns out to be bitter-sweet, as I am happy as a little girl... but it turns out I pulled it out from under a friend of mine. I was concerned about it, as he'd told me about it to begin with. I thought I asked all the right questions to the seller to make sure I wasn't... but turns out I did.

When I decided to pack it in the shop, my buddy was at the house checking out my camera. Turns out he thought it would be real funny to take pictures of me carrying it.

I can throw around 260 lb. pretty easy on most lifts at the gym... but an anvil doesn't have HANDLES and is not "carry friendly"!!!

Even though he irritated the crap out of me, and I showed him he's #1, it is funny.

I look like my head's going to pop off! LMAO!!! :D

Danbo was right, you got some girlie arms :) he he he.

I'm jealous. Mine is just a 130lb sitting on another 130 lb block. It works but it would be nice to have it all in one piece. Chasing it around is no fun.

You do look like something is about to burst in that first pic :)

Mark, I prefer the phrase, "blow an O-ring." :p :D :p We use that one at the gym a lot.

This anvil is exactly what I've wanted... because of the design, there is almost no "dead space" on the anvil. Even out within a few inches of the horns, there is great rebound!

The face is 7" wide!

It was mucho dinero, but it's also something that will be around longer than I will. I'll have it for the rest of my ride on this big rock :)

Oh, and yes, I am built like a Russian girl scout, I admit it :grumpy:

AND, those are Lilacs in the background. I think they're cool and they smell really good... so there! :p

Yep, Keep on carrying stuff like that, and you will be the proud owner of a couple of zippers in youre lower back like me.

Looks like your knees are about to go there Nick. I knew a guy that carried heavy objects from time to time, he would bet people he could pick up big rocks, anvils and all kinds of stuff. He was impressive, Right up until he fell over dead, he was 29 so they suspected foul play and ordered an autopsy, examiner said he blow an arterie from the heavy straining. Thats why they make 2 Wheelers. ;)

That's the wrong way to bust a nut. :D

Very nice anvil by the way.

Nick, Is that the middle one, anvil that is as far as size goes that they make? I got Lonnie's Titan a year ago. Its alot of anvil for 120 pounds. What you going to name this one?

Nick, nice anvil and pictures. I'm not making any wisecracks, I don't want a tough anvil carrying cuss knocking on my door looking for a wiseguy!! Nice score, the anvil has found a good home.

when he drops it on his foot you got him where you want him :D :D

yeah I used to lift V8 blocks for the fun of it.. it's not fun now :( check out my last MRI bill .

we call it blowing a gasket.. :)

Hey, I've got no problem with the flowers. I AM a little concerned about the big tube of KY on the shelf though! :D :D :p :p

(Just kiddin. I don't think there's a tube of KY on that shelf; but then again, I really can't see the whole shelf)

Danbo's just jealous he didn't get this anvil! :p

Guys, I didn't have to carry it very far. I've been into bodybuilding since I was about 14, so the idea of lifting something heavy is just kind of an automatic. I lift stuff FAR heavier than this thing every night at the gym... so I don't think I'll fall over dead ;)

Besides, if I put it on a hand-truck, then I'd have to bend all the way to the ground to pick it up and put it on the new stand I'm gonna' build. Now I can just set it down from on top of my welding table :)

See, I'm slightly smarter than I look.

Oh yea Ray, I remember Lonnie selling that one. I would have bought it if I'd known sooner! :)

I think he bought the one I just got. My friend I mentioned told me they just got the Gladiator (450lb.!!!) at his workplace.

I think because of the design these anvils act much bigger than they are.

First I had to start naming knives, now I gotta' name my anvil??? Sheesh! :p

I like "porky"!!! :D
