I want to give a huge shout out to the man who did these handles for me for the awesome cost of s&H and a few pieces of buckeye burl-Pat of Arcadia Knives!! I love em and although these aren't the best pics you can still see how cool the 16 looks but I do need to take some daylight shot of the necker so you can really see the detail of this awesome maple burl. The tweener's scales are removeable but the necker's are permanent. And as if hew didn't do a perfect job to begin with, he finished in a week instead of the estimated month and he even sharpened the blades for a brotha, lol. It really is top notch work and these feel amazing in my hand now, especially the necker-SO much nicer than 550 cord:D:thumbup: I will take more pics in the morning so you can really see how much these colors pop.

So without further ado...BTW the material used on the BK16 is an acrylester(spelling?) that goes by the name of molten metal:D

Well here are some more that I took this morning in better light. I wish I could focus but my crappy digital camera has pretty much no options. Its one step up from a point and shoot. And thanks for all the compliments guys.

I know this one is pretty blurry but at least you can see the orange detail in the maple burl a bit more

Sweet look to those blades. I like them a lot.

That is inspring me to make some for my BK-7. I've got some old Walnut up in my dad's barn, I need to dig thru that stuff and find some nice grain patterns.

Bring 'em down to Racine and I'll give them a proper photo shoot. ;)

Looks like he did a great job on those for you.

Glad you like'm Mike. My wife really liked the burl and the feel of the BK11 after the handles were put on. That acrylester was pretty easy to work with. That was the first time picking up a tweener(yes I live in the backwoods) and it felt damn nice.

Thanks again Pat. My buddy's jaw dropped when he say the tweener. They both feel perfect in my hands too. So what could I do to make the colors pop more aside from wetting it? Would varnishing it do the trick?

I think sanding to 2000 grit or so and buffing them. You can get a drill operated buffing set at HF pretty cheap. Put the drill in a vice, TAPE THE CUTTING EDGE, and buff her good. Did I say "tape the cutting edge"?

yup - Pat does nice work.
I had one of his "small utility hunters" in 52100 for a while and it was my go-to paring and steak knife.
