Dan made this for me, its a ninja neck knife, called the "lil kazor"
Its based on his bigger chopper, the "lil moby", but much much smaller and very refined.

i love cable damascus.

oh yea. Dan... our Dan Koster?

AMAZING! oooo... cable damascus sirupati.

i can dream.

And here I thought your wife had talked you into   :D

Nice new baby. I love Dan's work!

It's just beautiful, aint it?
Mamav, even if she had, it would be a bit soon...
IT is such a classy piece, I am very happy with it...
(I havent even held it yet, the sheath is still being made)

Basically, Dan had this one waiting around for something. I asked for a little change in the tip to make it more "tactical."
(sorry about using that word)
Anyway, it is, for me, a purely defensive weapon.
Sure, it can cut string and french bread, but I have a few special items that I try not to use for anything but emergencies.
This may be one of those..

Nice work, Dan. Beautiful scales.

OK Danny, what makes it a ninja knife? Is it just because it's so pretty a ninja bought it?

Sweet! That is some beautiful wood and steel. Dan is sure doing some nice work lately. I am in line with him for some work he is doing for me. If it turns out half that nice I will be happy.

Regards,

Norm

I've gotta scrape together some funds and get on Dan's list before he explodes onto the knife scene once everyone see just how beautiful and functional his work is and becomes backed up for years at a time (Which i hope happens in the very near future:)). Hmmmm, so many ideas.
Beautiful blade, Danny. A real balance between beauty and deadlly practicality;)

Aint it though?
If you cover the handle with your thumb, what you have is basically the last three inches of a katana......
In all fairness, I might add, this is a Dan Koster Original design.
I just said "gimme gimme"
I asked him to sharpen the tip (it was kind of cleaver-shape before) and I got to pick a piece of lovely wood he had.
Hes gonna put it in a very slim kydex neck sheath for me.

Thank you for all the kind words. Danny - glad you like it!

The scales are held on with hidden pins. The wood is stabilized eucalyptus - a piece I've had kicking around for over a year (same with the kazor blade). I finally got my act together and heat-treated it, but didn't have the motivation to finish it until Danny contacted me.

Here's the page:

its just great, there's nothing else to say.
its an awesome piece, a perfect design.

I would like to see what you could do with it in a kerambit configuration, maybe add a curving, wide blade and tanto style point.

that might be really interesting...

Dan, nice work, great figure in the wood. Is that burl or just regular eucalyptus? The pattern looks great, did you just etch or is it blued also?

Todd

Is it me, or does that little guy have a touch of straight razor in him?

Very nice Dan. DIJ ~ Congratulations on your latest edition to the family.
