Well I just got this on Wed. and had to share with you guys. I have fallen in love with this gun. It is going to take some shooting to get used to her and how she handles but I am well prepared for the challenge. It is a 6.5 Grendal. I took her out today to get the initial sighting in done. I will fine tune it over the next few weeks.

Still need some time behind the glass. My scope does not have the best reticle for precision shooting.

Not yet. I am new to this whole target shooting game. I am sure it won't take long before I do start reloading my own stuff.

What were you doing in the past? Hoping for accuracy by volume :D ;)

Reloading isn't hard, hell I do it and I haven't blow off any body part yet. There's just a large start up cost.

Who made the AR? I can't quite make out the lower? Kinda looks like Buchmaster but I'm not sure.

Yes it is a Bushmaster. The upper has a bunch of stuff that I have know idea who made it or what it is. Still working on all that information. lol

Ha...has the makings of a nice rifle. Put a Magpul UBR on it, get an American Defense, Larue, or Burris PEPR forward scope mount, Ergo grip, and after market trigger and you'll be good to go.

Speaking of the upper, who's charging handle is that? BCM? I ask because of the latch, doesn't quite look stock but it doesn't look like a Badger Ordnance latch either.

Looks like you have one hell of a range at your place Josh, thanks for the invite :grumpy: I always wanted to shoot the AR10 at 300 yards or try the .41 mag Smith at 300 but good luck finding that type of space in the sticks where I live.

I was expecting to see pictures of an actual baby! I would say that is your new rebellious teenager, because that is just plain BadA$$. I can't wait to get out the city and move to New Hampshire where I can get all the 1911s, ARs and whatever other firearms I want.

Glad to see you finally have your 6.5 Grendal Josh  What ammo were you shooting ? Alexander Arms or Wolf ? Within the Alexander Arms there are a few different choices of bullets to try ... then even more in the Wolf hunting ammo. The groups are looking good so far ! Remember when cleaning to use a full length rod like a Dewey and try and get a chamber bore guide ... and don't pull the Jag for patches back over the barrel crown. Accurate barrels like these need the crown keeping quite sharp ... burrs and dinks on the crown will open up groups. Push the jag carefully back over the crown or remove it and re-attach if a flash hider blocks access to do this. Nylon brushes can be pulled back over ... copper wire ones again ought to be removed and re-attached.

It is a bit of a pain cleaning like this but it does preserve the barrel better ...

There is no greater fun than learning to re-load and developing a load for the rifle ... if you want any help or advice on reloading send me a PM ...

If you want an idea on what you might need equipment wise ... again just shout ...

Good luck with all of this ... and wishing you tight groups

Back in the day (pre-1996 here) I had a H-Bar built up like a Canadian C7, with and ACOG on top. That thing out shot many quality bolt rifles... I am no expert but when I put up a six inch group at 600yds I was pretty damn happy.... (of course I could NEVER do it again but I did have a Notional Champion Rifleman with me who will verify it to this day... :) ).

Oh wait...a pic..
