Hello Everyone,

I don't want to stay a lurking shark type, so I thought I'd make a semi-introductory post / review of sorts.

I've been hanging out and trying to snag a DOTD for awhile, as a way to get a feel for the khuks I've been drooling over. I was fast enough to get the 15 inch BAS by Vim on 7/31. I was hoping that eventually I would get a BAS as it seems to be the most rounded in its abilities and a great introductory one, or so I've read in various posts/recommendations/reviews.

Shipping was crazy fast, I've had things come from closer states that took a week, not 3 days.

This one is fairly sharp. It's not dull, but it’s no arm hair shaving machine. I'll need to attempt to fix that. But, it is still plenty sharp for what I was using it for.

I was a little worried about the handle shape since I've never had anything like this, but the BAS fit my hand like a glove. I'm still impressed of how good it feels.

I started on some small bush like things growing around, the biggest one was about one inch in diameter. Once I figured out the right swing, it was all over for them. I moved on to some larger pieces of pine tree branches that I've tripped over for far too long. Pine tree = 0. BAS = 1.

When I took it over to show my Dad, he said "What’s this? Theres no way this knife can cut through branches." He then took a pretty mild swing and set it deeply into a 4x4 on his deck. I have standing orders that the next one I buy is his, only he wants a bigger one.

Over all, I'm very impressed. And need more, many many more.

That is classic.

Welcome to the first stages of HIKV.

I'm sure I was preaching to the chior here with this review, but I did it anyways. :D

I'm still impressed with my BAS.

I am still debating if I want to remove the rust or just clean it up a little and keep it for a user. Sure, an AK would be better for whacking down things, but I like this one :p

I also scored a 18in M43. I cant wait for it either!!

Glad you like the BAS, they are a well rounded design and very popular.
