Aloha ALL,

Well, I have been using mostly my Desert Tan SF as my all around beater knife. Yes, small knives with a partially serrated blade have been cited as "useless", but I have found it quite the opposite. That lil' section of serrations comes in very handy when cutting thick weed whacker line and my PE section has been dulled!

Anyway, I carry the following on a daily, sometimes in rotation: Spyderco 2006 Forum Lava, Boker Plus Trance, and my "new" beater SF: CAMO!!! It's basically a color variant of the Desert and all Black. I just LOVE the way the colors look on this one!

Looks like some kinda fighter jet, ready to go! (Now, everyone hum, "Danger Zone" from Top Gun when looking at this pic!:D )

I know, I know...the CAMO version depicted in some catalogs is green, but that was a mistake. This is the actual CAMO SF! Will there be a Green? Not sure...but I hope there will be. My wife was awfully bummed when the Camo came out of the box Gray!:o

Anyway, the black finish has held up amazingly well, and I only got a scratch on the side of my clip. Just wanted to share and talk story about my new beater SF!:)

Mahalo for checking this out, and take care all!
God bless:thumbup:

wow that looks realy slick i like that the backside of the handle is blacked out as well. is it possible to get it in a non-serrated version(serations are usefull i just hate maintaining them)?...................Highway to the Danger Zone.......

Aloha, DW! Nice new variant, there. Very "urban" friendly :)

God Bless, and Keep up the Good Work!

Some sites are actually listing a "green camo" SF...is there a green one in existence right now?...or are the camo's all grey?

I think the above is the "green" variant that you're talking about, the colour is really off in the "stock" photos. Or at least that's what I've heard.

Chad,

Thanks for the info. I guess there isn't any green versions. Those vendors should change their descriptions as people will be very disappointed if they order a green one and it comes in grey. I like the grey, but I like the green more. Thanks for the info again Chad.

Mahalo nui loa,

Johnny

Aloha Johnny,

Yeah, no kidding...my wife was one of those "disappointed"...she really liked the green one as well. Hopefully, Boker contacted their dealers...

God bless and take care:thumbup:

Hi Chad,
I too have been using my Desert Tan SF as a beater. Curious how the blade on your Camo looks after use?
Thanks,
B

Aloha billy1,

Will post some pics of mine tomorrow. Actually, the coat has withstood very well...better than I thought it would. Sure, there are a few scratches and wear on the clip and lockside, but nothing major. On the blade itself, the most wear appears to be "above" the serrations.

Good choice of "beater knife" BTW...

God bless and mahalo EVERYONE:cool:
