I got a really neat custom in a trade recently and I think I'm going to make it my new big-knife companion to the Mora (or similar) that I (hopefully) will have some time soon. Previously, I was carrying a CRK aviator and a ATC VTAC so this is a big change for me. The previous setup was working but not totally ideal. The aviator performed admirably but was a little heavy for a small knife and I didn't like the saw back. The Tomahawk was great for chopping firewood but not great for much else. Anyway, this new knife looks like it will be a great replacement and much more versatile than the VTAC but I don't know anything about it! It's about 13.5" over all with a 7.75'' blade, 3/16" thick, appears to be forged, and scandi ground. I don't know who the maker is but I'm glade he made it. The only clue is the sakai stamp on the back of the sheath, which the blade practically locks into. Anyway, I just wanted to share my enthusiasm with you guys and post some pics. If anyone knows more about this knife, I'd love to hear it.

Sakai is a japanese cutlery center near Osaka (I think they is a bunch of those cities in Japan including Seki, Takefu...).
G.Sakai is also the name of a company which is the contractor behind a lot the made in Japan Spyderco and Gerber. They make very good products. From the looks of the knife I wouldn't be surprise they manufactured yours.
