My new BK11 after a little work

So I got this BK11 for Xmas and I though it would look better without the coating, etc, etc;) So I went to work and work it was. I had to spray it with stripper 4 times and I still had to hand sand the hell out of it with 100, 180, and 1000 grit as well as going to town on it with some sanding wheel bits and my dremel. the finish had slight lines in it when looked at in a lot of light but other than that I really like it. I added a little jimping for thumb traction and wrapped the entire handle with a weird silverish/blue-green 550 cord. I hate when only the outer rim of the handle is wrapped. I'm also working on making a braided neck lanyard for the sheath, but it needs alot of work or I need a bit more practice, hmmmmm which one could it be:D
Well here it is...

The trick is to do it better than me:D I got a cheap dremel at harbor freight but even doing the simple jimping I was eating though the stone or ceramic bits pretty quick. I'm learning as I go, this was job #2 and it was better than #1 so hopefully the pattern will comtinue. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Chainsaw files work super fast for jimping. Try the smallest ones. I just cut out some handles today for mine which I've only had for a week. I've jimped, stripped and made larger finger area. It's fun to pimp these out. Next is new sheath. Hey Mike where do you live in Milwaukee? I was born & raised 45 years in BrewTown. Grew up on 23rd & Greenfield. Moved to Tosa, West Allis then left from St. Francis. My kids and family are still there. Had to get outta the city.

Man arcadia, I've lived my entire life around the 15th cleveland area but my sister lives on 24th & Orchard and I lived for a while with my dad years ago a block away on 23rd and lapham, so I know that area pretty well.

I was just up in Milwauekee the weekend before gun deer season for my grandsons first birthday. My wife mailed one of my knives up to my son so I'd have one as soon as I got off the plane. Next time it'll be the pimped out Becker Necker. Would you like a set of wood scales for your 11? I'll be posting them tomorrow along with the cool burl scales I cut for myself. I'd be honored to send them to a neighbor. They are maple burl, light grain with exposed opener and stampings.
