Just received my first Becker yesterday. A BK2. What a knife! Knew I wanted to strip her down and put a patina on, so I wanted to try the grapefruit patina.
Already added the micarta scales also. Hope these pictures do it justice, because in person I think it looks amazing.

Thanks guys. MJ CARP, I left the grapefruit on for about 3.5 hours. Also, when I put the grapefruit on the blade, I sort of squished it down a little to get some of the juice out and onto the blade, then just laid a phone book on top.

The few grapefruit patinas I've seen have turned out great. Yours looks awesome.
I've tried vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, tabasco.
I haven't really been happy with any of them.
The tabasco turned out O.K., but I've found I like the bare blade the best.
I may have to try the grapefruit though. LOL

Dude, try lemons! I have an awesome one. It's sort of dark (well, it's a natural patina from cutting lemons, so it's not like it's going to be super dark), and it wears away wonderfully. I had a lot of layers of it, so it wore away in layers. Looks antiquated.
I'll try and post pictures.

Beckerhead #201 reporting. Gosh, I've been gone a while. Feels good to be back.

There you go. Fixed em' up a tad in Photoshop, so you get the idea what it looks like
in person. Just phone shots, but you get the idea. Love the simplistic lemon patina.
Love my Azwelke Kydex sheath L4NE4, it's still holding up like the day I got it.
Sure has aged a lot since I put that mirror polish on it. Oh well, at least now it has
a proper convex grind.

For those into fountain pens, that is my TWSBI Diamond 540 EF nib filled with De Atrementis Jasmine ink.

Love the TWSBI, but do you find the EF to be scratch/toothy on some papers? It works well on stuff in the Clairefontaine family of papers, but I think an F would be a happy medium (or fine, in this case).

Honestly, the TWSBI is super smooth. Go for the EF if you like them really fine, and even then I'd like it to be a tad finer (perhaps expectations are too high), but I would attribute it to the fact that it is a pretty wet writer (in a good way, it's not like it globs ink like crazy, but it is really nice compared to the desert of the Lamy Safari). Clairefontaine? Gosh, I wish I had the money for the nice paper. I use it all the time on the 99 cent lined note paper for school, and it works wonderfully. Copy paper on the other hand, still a bit meh, but it is usable.

I think Lamy has consistency issues; I have an EF that is more like a medium, and I can't stand it. My fiance has another EF Safari that is perfect... go figure.

At any rate, I think I'll have to find a new cheap paper selection that is fountain pen friendly.

That thing looks great. Is that one of the new etched ones? If so, could you snap an up close shot of the logo? I've been trying to find pics of stripped beckers to see how deep the etch is.

Haha, the Lamy totally has major consistency issues! Move a bit too fast on the page, and it skips. Oh well, it's my only pen that can handle my Noodler's Polar Black Bulletproof ink. The ink clogs up my TWSBI immediately. So I keep it around for "important" documents and such. I have EF in the Lamy too, and you're right, it might as well be a medium.
Those being my only two pens, you can see that I like EF. I don't like bolder fonts too much. I plan on getting a 1.1 stub italiac nib for my TWSBI though. I love classic calligraphy, and I myself do a lot with an old Scheaffer that I have, and want that overall style to go into my handwriting (Which currently is attractive but small and slightly illegible due to it's minute size and the fact that most people nowadays can't read cursive).

Febeleh - I think you would love the Kaweco Sport, and you have probably heard of it before. Small, great for EDC, and writes extremely well. I use a syringe and refill the cartridges.
