Man! What a knife. Thank Heaven for UPS tracking! I waited till the UPS man showed up, or else I would have left for Grandma's a lot earlier. I'm glad I did. Now I'll have something to play with over the weekend. This is my first Becker product, and I never thought something so reasonably priced would be so nice. I can't find a bad grind line on it. Everything matches up perfectly. I'm usually pretty anal about these things.

The only qualm I have about it is the size! Nine inches looked a lot smaller on my ruler than it looks on this blade! Of course the ruler is only about half as wide. It will be a hell of a chopper though. My problem is I wanted to take it into the field next week, but I'll have to keep it in my ruck or I know I'll have everyone calling me Rambo! Oh well, small price to pay...

Been here reading for a while, but this is my first post, Maybe this should have been in general discussion forum as I don't see any similar ones in here? If so, my applogies.

Maybe you should've gotten the 7 or the Crewman.
The CQB3 is a right blade for me ;)

You can't go wrong with the BK9. It's a great knife for an excellent price.

Oh, it's an excellent knife all right. I was just pruning around the area where we have our annual campfire, and it was handling 1 1/2" saplings in only a couple of swings. I split up some small kindling with little effort as well. It's still scary sharp too. I have my trusty old Estwing hatchet as well, but I really didn't need it. As much as I hate to buy new knives, :D I may just have to buy a BK7!

I have a BK-7 if you want to trade :D, as I just traded-off my other BK-9, and I already miss it..

Really, these Beckers ARE excellent knives, and they really SHOULD cost more than they do (but please don't let Will or Ethan read this or they might raise the prices :D.).

Yeah, I don't know how they can afford to stay in business! I got bored a little while ago, and I took it out and did a little more chopping and splitting. This thing is really impressive, and it's not showing any appreciable signs of wear.

I was gonna get the BK7 & BK9 as a stopover on the way to rats or something better. When I got them, I put them to use in the kitchen and realized I couldn't do better than the 7 for a camp knife, at any price. When I took them camping I decided I didn't need anything better since there were no CMU's to cut up for kindling. Realizing there is a hole in my lineup between the Yari and A1, I've decided to give the Crewman a shot. I suspect I'll be just as pleased. I have made the scales a little narrower, about 3/16~1/4 total, on the 7 and I'm gonna do it to the 9 as well. If or when I get the BK10, I'll have all three pairs of scales sandblasted for about $10. These knives would make green stamp lickers proud!

Well, I'm so impressed with this knife, that I already bought a Crewman for my boss's 50th birthday present. He doesn't like big knives, but he is hard on them. I'm confident that this one can stand up to his abuse. It doesn't hurt that his last name is Becker either. Thought that was a nice touch.

Anthony,

You forgot the "PERIOD" :)

Here I am trying to save some money for Oct. KCR and you guys keep talking about the BK7 and BK9! Oh well, at least its only $50 or so.

Thanks,

Albin

Both blades are worth having! I like carry the BK-9 horizontally in a BK-1 sheith across the back of my waist. Don't even know its there. ok...I'm alittle wide...
