Hi How do I post pics of my new FSH without being a gold member. It is black and sterile with black paper handles, and an asymetrical grind with a penetrator tip.

Thanks,

I just figured this out myself. The file must be less than 100k. You can edit your own post and upload it under manage attachments. I hope this helps.

great website and it's free. Hurry! Would love to see one with black paper and the mods. When and where did you order it? Who did the work?

Congrats... sounds like a great knife!

Hi,
I ordered it that way from the factory back in October. It cost the same as any other one.

Thanks Jim. Did you get a chance to go to photobucket.com. That was the link I provided in my email. It's pretty cool.
Looking forward to seeing some pics of your knife! :D

Thats a pretty sweet combo of blade finish/handle color.

It's just sooo BLACK, I like BIG knives and I cannot lie. Some other brothers...

Oh I crack myself up!!! :D

COOL pic!

Just wondering, was the penetrator tip an option or standard ? because mine doesn't have it.

I just ordered an asymetrical grind and that is how it came I didn't order it this way but I am happy that it has it. In the past if I remember correctly it was a $10.00 option.

Great score! Really like the black on black.

Did you request a penetrator tip to be put on your FSH? The reason I'm asking is, I don't see any difference with the tip. Maybe it's just the picture. Cause it looks pretty much just like the tip on my FSH ( just got from Company Store ). Did you order your FSH from the Company Store or from the main Busse website? I thought something like a penetrator tip would be considered a modification from the normal FSH and that would have to be done by at the shop before shipping?

Now that grind looks real different than the one I have. Much wider. Not sure if that is what you meant by asymetrical grind?

Whatever the details, congrats on a beautiful knife Jim. Thanks for posting the pictures, they look great.

You know, canvas micarta has some advantages but I often forget how good paper micarta looks. And it only falls to "slightly less ridiculously-tough." :D

Beauty!

Asymetrical is like the E-series knives were made. I think it is a flat grind on the left side and a convex grind on the right side. Jerry used to put this on most of his knives but not alot of people liked to resharpen it but I find it to be the best edge that he makes. In my mind it is what makes a Busse a Busse. The penetrator tip is only a small amount ground off of the tip of the knife on top

Jim.

Ok... well then I guess mine also came with the penetrator tip. I guess I was thinking along the lines of something like a Force One but than maybe that's more a tanto style. Hmmm, I'm confusing myself. Must be getting late. Thanks for the information Jim.

Yeah, the reason the penetrator tip is a really cheap option is because it's not all that hard to do, I've started putting them on alot of my EDC folders that have slightly rounded/dull tips and they work great. It's basically just two really small bevels on the spine (at the tip of course) that give you an extra sharp point(iirc, it's a bit tougher too because of the geometry involved). Busse also has the B.A.T. (busse armored tip) that may be what you're thinking of.
