Ray that "Grayman Merdeka" is one helluva knife and methinks rather popular as another fellow posted a pic of one in another forum. ;)

Perchance is it chisel ground? Looks to be more of a chopper than a slicer and dicer, is it or will it do all three?

.

Yvsa,

Yes it is chisel ground. I touched up the edge and slices pretty good. The blade is pretty beefy (.25"). Chopped up some cow leg bones so far, no chipped or rolled edges.

How do you like the M&P45? Haven't had a chance to handle one yet. I assume this one has been tuned? If so, what did you have to do and what did you do to personalize to yourself? Man, I'm just full of questions today.

I am a 1911 and Glock fan. Been using those designs close to 20 years. I tuned several M&Ps for customers and I liked the gun so much that I bought one.
This M&P is my personal one, tuned for reliability, trigger job (set @ 5lbs), and stippled / textured the grip. Nothing fancy. This M&P will shoot 2" at 25 yards with Federal HST +Ps. :)

I'm getting a Marlin 1895GS in August and hopefully my SA mil-spec in September. After I put a couple of hundred thru the mil-spec I'll be getting in touch for a tune up. I'll have to look real close at that M&P. May have to put it on the list.

what is the reasoning behind having such tiny grinds? If it had a decent grind, it could be a real slicer with that wide blade. As is, it looks to have poor geometry.

I didn't design the knife. You can bring it up with Mike (Grayman Knives - designer and maker).

The blade is plenty sharp for a chisel grind blade!

Is the M&P an airsoft fake???

Any knife can be sharp. Geometry is what cuts.

Nobody made you post an airsoft toy as a real gun, just as nobody suggested this one was fake.

Broken Arrow,
I hope you didn't think I was suggesting that you posted a picture of an airsoft. I meant I might should look at maybe adding one to my arsenal.

No problem Terry. I think if you decide to buy an M&P .45 that you will like it. Very soft shooting gun and pretty accurate out of the box. There is a gas airsoft version for cheap indoor practice available. Even fits in real M&P holsters!

The tuning that was done: polished and tuned trigger, internals, feed ramp, chamber and breach face. I think S&W still has their rebate thing available for the M&Ps.
