Years ago I was hypnotized by the leather handle Woodsman. Really dug it the most. I couldn't rationalize upkeep with stacked handle in this neck of the woods where everything is always wet and then it rains for months while the snow melts and I sweat on everything. Mink oil could have been the fix. Never bot one. I still see them once in a while. Do you have variants running uphill Mike?
They all look good to my sore eyes:
All three look great Steve. The leather looks awesome, and very traditional, but I can see where you would prefer another material, livin on the other side of the mountain

Leather does have a nice feel to it though, and as you said, with a little treatment, it would be fine. I like leather, especially when it is wet out.
It gives an added feeling of security, over the hard, slick materials.
I've only had 2 102's, and both were early models. The biggest reason I went with older version was because I like the sheath with the flap

Sometime back, I went through my drawers and gun safe, and sold off a bigger portion of my knives. My collection was nowhere near the size of many, but like I always do, I became totally obsessed with knives, and I burned out. I did the same thing with guns.
There are only a few that I really regret selling, and the 102 is one of those. I'm slowly getting back into things, and the 102 is one that is definitely on the top of my list. Fortunately they are easy to find.
I've also seen the 102 with smooth bone handles, and I really like the looks of those. If I pick one up before you do, I'll send it your way and you can check it out before you buy one.
Here's a picture of the bone version I stole from one of the big fish chain stores... Now that I looked, I may have to pick this version up, and find one of the old flap style sheaths
