Don't you mean 290 Platinum?

They aren't discontinued, they are in the 2010 catalog. Yours was made in 2005.
 
The Rush is a great little knife and I know you will enjoy it. If you decide you want a larger knife, look into the 295 or 296 Tempest, they are a lot like yours but larger and also came in the Platinum finish. They are discontinued but are still pretty widely available.
 
I love mine, great little EDC knife that doesn't weigh much at all. I sold my SOG Twitch II when I got my Rush as I just liked it so much more.
