I got back into town after being away for thanksgiving and my new Mnandi was waiting in my mailbox! I sent my cocobolo Mnandi off to Eric (Shepard Custom Concealment) about 6 months ago after a long search to find someone willing to take on my carbon fiber inlay project. Eric did a great job, the finish is even better than the work that Berry H. did on the annual in the last picture. I just wanted to show off, especially since it was all of you that caused me to want this knife!
The hardware is all bronzed and stonewashed, and the blade and frame are acid washed and stonewashed as well. The carbon fiber has copper threads in it as opposed to the bronze in the regular "lightening strike" variety. The whole package looks fantastic IMO::thumbup:

That looks really nice.
I'm surprised how well the acid and stone washed blade looks on that otherwise gentlemanly knife. The bronzed hardware is a nice touch, and I think that the CF looks good on the knife too but in the pic you posted of both knives I think I'd take that annual. The CF on the annual appears thinner, maybe because it's a bigger knife, but next to the Mnandi it makes the CF on the Mnandi look a little thick.

Both are knives to be envied, please don't take my comment as a negative critique, I'd be happy to have either of them and the work on both looks top notch.

Thank you for sharing.

You have a good eye! The carbon fiber is a little thicker on the Mnandi than the Annual. In fact, it goes above the frame a little more than most CRK inlays that I have ever had. I would compare the thickness of the CF to the way the micarta inlays are done on the new sebenzas.

Somehow i missed this thread too. Wow, thats cool!

Really wish Crk would do a carbon fiber and stonewashed blade mnandi!

woah

can't... form... coherent... thought... but must... reach... minimum... word count...

Looks neat, but I agree about the handles,,,I despise handles that are thicker than they are tall. Looks too thick for me. I'd like to see what the CF looks like with a regular blasted frame and polished blade.

I agree with Abominable1 that both look great, and I normally don't say this, but I wanted to add, I find the comment comparing it to Barry's work to be in poor taste. I get it, but a description of the work might be better than stating whose craftsmanship you find better.
