Wow!!

I just received my Carnivore. It's realy neat.I sharpened it on my new Sharpmaker 204 to a scapel sharpness. I like everything about it except the stone wash finish. I'm still trying to get used to it. I have a Small Sebenza and an Elishewitz Specter with this finish also,But I still like the satin finish the best because it gives a crisper
apperance to the blade features. This is very minor compared to all of the other great
features this knife has.Oh,One other thing Iwould have liked to have seen the REKAT logo on the clip like on the Pioneer.

Mine indexes in my hand perfectly.I have medium sized hands, but I think this design will work for even small hands. Possibly the really big hands would have problems with th grip and maybe be better off with Pocket Hobbit.

I just picked a Carnivour yesterday myself. When I first saw it, I really disliked the stone washed finish also. But the more I think about it , the finish is pretty cool because this is one knife you won't worry about scratching!

I for one love the finish. I go crazy when I scratch my knives and now I dont have to worry about it. Not to mention according to Bob Taylor it improves corrosion resistance by three times.

I love stonewash finish too. In the case of REKAT, we call it "tin roof"

You can use this finish and not worry about scratches that occur with satin, black-T and worst yet, bead blast.
My Pioneers are a testimony to rust and stain resistance as they have been used as watermelon carvers and generally abused.
Once I left mine sticking through a cooked steak to pin it down and drive the coons crazy. The next morning it was gone. The coons had drug it off and I found it in a creek where I guess they washed up.
I just dried it off and gave it a WD-40 bath when I returned home a few days later. No rust or stains at all. This is good !

How does yours index in your hand? My hands are fairly wide and I have a very good grip with this knife. A friend at work didn't find it comfortable, too wide and the finger index too large. I am wondering how the Sifu will feel, as it has very precise indexing.

I don't think I have to comment how much I like the finish any further. But what about a fast break Kydex sheath a la Pioneer? Or am I going to have to send it off to G2 or Chiro75?

James-
I just got a Carnivour a couple of weeks ago, and I had the same idea for wanting a break-free kydex sheath like the Pioneer, and Pocket Hobbit.
I called Christina(CEO) at REKAT, and she said at this time they are not offering one for the Carnivour, BUT, she gave me the name and phone number for Skunkworks in Idaho, who does these sheaths for all the REKAT models, and I talked to Frank(owner of one man shop), and said he hasn't does any yet for the Carnivour, but will do it if you send the knife in for $10(I'm assuming not counting shipping).
I have not sent mine in as yet, as newness not wore off, not ready to part with it for a few days.
Anyway, if you want to call him, his number is 509-534-6113.

Hope this helps.

Larry, thanks for the information. I will definitely look into it.

If I do send mine in for a fitting, is there anyone else interested in having one made while it is in the shop? Mine is mostly a decoration at this point, so I won't suffer any seperation anxiety. I will post if I send the knife off to see if there is any further interest.
