I just took a one day trip to Osage Beach with my fiancee and took a trip to the Walnut Bowls/Chicago Cutlery/Case Outlet store. I ended up with this beauty:

It came sharp but with a huge wire edge. A round with the sharpmaker and a blast of RemOil has her perfect for pocket carry. Overall, the knife has great walk and talk; the blades are nice and snappy. The jigged bone is very nice although not up to the standards set by the Spyderco Kiwi. I don't think that I could have done better with my 25 bucks. After a trip to the Coach outlet afterwards, Darci and I are just about broke, until our next expedition ;)

I like yours just fine.
Heres one of my EDC's

Nice EDC's guys.

I like to hear that people are carrying slipjoints as EDC knives. There's hope for mankind yet!!;)

Looks good, I like Wharncliffe blades. Does Case use CV or stainless for this model?

I have not seen this pattern. I like it too.:) Thanks for poiting the pic and info.

Unfortunately it is stainless but after convexing the edge, the edge is razor sharp and sharpens up just like my OT's. I don't know why but I've always been attracted to wharncliffe blades. I love my Kiwi but I'm sometimes hesitant to carry it when I think that it might be messed up. I think that next time I'm at Osage Beach, I'll pick up another one just to have a back up.
Thanks fellows!
Matt

A small Wharncliffe blade is used in woodcarvers knifes-The kind used to make Santas or whittle small heads. The small blades are good for cutting with the tip. The Wharncliffe has a straight (not curved) cutting edge. When you sharpen a straight edge dont do it in a circular pattern-otherwise the straight edge becomes rounded. The first knife looks real fine. I would place it alongside the seven other regulars on my bureau. Your mood determines which you carry that day. Paul S
