My new Cincinatti Machax

Boy am I excited about this bad boy. I had a Kabar version and I liked it but wasnt overly thrilled with it.
THIS GUY ON THE OTHER HAND is a whole different animal. It chops like a BEAST and it carves really nicely after I fixed up the boogered up edge.
It has some more surface rust that I have to keep working on but as is, this is going to be my new favorite desert/woods user. Now I just have to make a kydex sheath for it.

Im kinda torn with the machax..i think it looks bad ass but i cant imagine how i would feel using it..i need to find a passaround for one of these..but all in all thats a good score

Its nice, all that surface rust seems to be sanding down to nice smooth metal.
Wow this thing makes a fantastic draw knife, seems to work even better than my Kabar version. And if you havent convexed your Machax yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?

Hey Tobiism......

That is a pretty rare one......Good score........ May I suggest finding a gunsmith who can bead blast and then have it sent out for hard chrome or parkerising (phosphating)....... The industrial hard chrome makes for a naturally lubricious surface and the phosphating is an excellent and very durable choice...... A bit of silicone on the Phosphate makes stuff not want to stick........
