My new coin

I just purchased a new coin and just wanted to see what everyone thought. I have owned bullion coins before but nothing very old. The coin I got is a 1882 $5 Half Eagle graded at MS61, I know it is a common date but I had to start somewhere. So does anyone else collect coins?

Remember our money is based on a promise. I've lived during the gold & then the silver standard. Our promissory note is smoke to me.
Gold & silver are very high now. I liquidated some common [ melt + silver ]and bought gold. Now I'm considering selling bent,broken & scrap gold to buy gold coins. Scrap is at an all-time high, I believe & scrap is just that.

Skip a few luxuries & buy all the gold you can. Diamonds are too risky for a novice .
